Retrato encargado por el mítico poeta y bestia mítica David González.

David González acaba de publicar su último libro de muchos, Campanas de Etiopía, en la editorial Origami. No puedo describir el inmenso honor que me ha brindado al escogerme para realizar esta obra.
Además, David me ha permitido subir su retrato a Society6, así que quien desee conseguir artículos-insignia con su efigie de bestia poética puede hacerlo. Dignidad maldita y chamánica.

David González has just published his last book "Campanas de Etiopía" (Origami). I can’t describe how honoured I am for having been chosen to create this portrait.
Besides, David has allowed me to upload it to Society6. Accursed and shamanic dignity.

Camafeos, tazas y pérfidos planes

Dulce mañana invernal, bellos seres.
He aquí las fotos de los primeros camafeos.

De momento, al ser los primeros y al estar tanteando el terreno como una criatura blanca y boscosa, tengo ejemplares limitados y sólo los estoy vendiendo cara a cara. Según preveo o me hacen los encargos, pido poco a poco los materiales y éstos tardan entre dos y cuatro semanas en llegar, lo que significa que no tengo en todo momento existencias de todos los modelos.
Sin embargo, os anuncio brevemente que los días 20, 21 y 22 de diciembre, unas cuantas damas que no somos damas en absoluto os atacaremos con nuestra obra en el Avalon Goblin Market. Y sí, allí tendré mis camafeos. Mañana publicaré una entrada relativa a esto, pero mientras tanto podéis consultar las actualizaciones en el propio facebook del evento.

Aparte, estoy elaborando mi propia tienda en Etsy, en la cual encontraréis camafeos, láminas y postales. Casi con toda probabilidad empezará a funcionar en enero, y sin duda alguna tendrá un nombre nada inocente.

These are the photos of my first cameos.

For the moment, as they are the first ones and I am getting the lay of the land like a white and wooded creature, I have limited samples and I am only selling them face to face. I purchase the supplies little by little as I forecast the sales, and the shipment of these supplies takes 2-4 weeks, which means that I do not have all models in stock at all times. 
Nevertheless, for those of you who are in Madrid, I must announce briefly that this December 20th, 21th and 22th, a few ladies who are not ladies at all will attack you with our work during the Avalon Goblin Market. Besides, I am building my own Etsy store, in which you will find cameos, art prints and postcards. Almost in all likelihood it will be ready in January, and without any doubt it will have a blameworthy name. 

Dejando aparte los camafeos pero no los soportes, como noticia relacionada he de añadir que ahora en Society6 también podéis encontrar láminas de algunas de mis ilustraciones infantiles. Y tazas. Oh, sí. Y me he vuelto loca haciéndolas. Porque necesitaba incluir palabras, ¿entendéis…? No. Sí. No. No importa. Para mí es importante. Una taza no es sólo un recipiente casero. Y sí. Y todo. Dejadme.

Pantanos y demás pequeñas cosas

Elegí dibujar este bichito en primer lugar porque la fotografía original me parecía una imagen de matices y tonos especialmente preciosos, y en segundo lugar porque el sujeto en cuestión ostentaba el nombre de somormujo moñudo.

Lo sé, acabo de perder todo mi glamur, ¿verdad…?

Pero es que entendedme. Un ave tan elegante y donairosa, somormujo moñudo. Por favor. Es casi tan grandioso como el pigargo vocinglero. Casi.

Oh, y además de esto debo informaros de que hay un nuevo periodo de benevolencia de Society6: hasta este domingo, los gastos de envío son gratuitos. Así que estáis avisados.


I chose to draw this firstly because the original photograph seemed to me an image full of shades and hues especially beautiful, and secondly because in Spanish the subject  in particular received the name somormujo moñudo.

I know, I have just lost all my glamour, haven't I…?

But you must understand me. Such an elegant and graceful bird, somormujo moñudo. Please. It is almost as magnificent as the pigargo vocinglero. Almost.

Otra ilustración para el álbum infantil (más, aquí y aquí).
Ésta la comencé en abril; y ese mismo mes hubo de quedar interrumpida, coloreada a medias, hasta hace unos días.
Ahora está terminada, y, como suele pasar, las palabras para escoltarla llegaron a mí en el momento oportuno.

Así que defendedlo, mis criaturas.

PD: En cuanto a otros asuntos, debo señalar que Society6 vuelve a tener uno de sus periodos sin gastos de envío hasta este domingo. Por si algún ser inquieto los quiere aprovechar…

I began this one in April; and I had to left the process interrupted, unfinished, until some days ago.
Now she is completed and, as usual, the words to escort her came to me at the most timely moment.

Nueva tienda en Society6 / New shop on Society6

Mis queridas criaturas:

Tras un tiempo siendo sutilmente espoleada por algunos de vosotros, y azuzada también por el ejemplo de bellos seres como Barb Hernández, he creado finalmente mi propia tienda dentro de Society6.

He estado trabajando cuidadosamente en el diseño de las camisetas por razones de carácter emblemático-estético-simbólico obsesivo (quienes me conozcáis sabéis que soy algo insoportable en este aspecto, no digáis que no); y dado que en la tienda no siempre se aprecian del todo estas adaptaciones, ilustro esta entrada con algunas de ellas para que podáis considerar mejor lo que se os ofrece en el caso de estar interesados.

Cierto es que aún faltan un par de ilustraciones por retocar con tal fin (y muchas cosas más que debo sopesar si hacer o no), pero espero resolver esa cuestión lo antes posible. Pensé, además, que había que aprovechar que Society6 está en uno de sus periodos de promoción benevolente: hasta el día 14, si entráis en mi tienda siguiendo este link, los gastos de envío son gratuitos.

Llamadme candorosa, pero estoy emocionada cual joven mochuelo (y si nunca habéis visto un mochuelo emocionado, yo me lo pensaría dos veces antes  de cuestionarme mi metáfora).

The Evil Queen / The Orchid Queen

My dear creatures:

After some time being craftily spurred by some of you, and also incited by the example of beautiful beings like Barb Hernández, I have finally created my own shop on Society6.

I have been working very carefully on the design of the t-shirts due to obsessive emblematic-aesthetic-symbolic reasons (those who know me know that I am a bit unbearable in this respect, don't deny it); and as these adaptations are not always clearly noticeable in the shop, I am illustrating this post with some of them so that you can consider what is being offered to you in the event that you are interested.

The Hunter

It is true that there are a couple of illustrations which have not been adapted for t-shirt yet (and many other things that I must ponder if I am going to adjust or not), but I hope to straighten this matter out as soon as I can. Besides, I thought it was much better to take advantage of the free shipping promotion that Society6 was offering these days: you can make the most of it following this link.

Call me naïve, but I feel thrilled like a young little owl (and if you have never seen a thrilled little owl, I would think it twice before questioning my metaphor).
