Rojo y Oro II

En mis ilustraciones interiores para Rojo y Oro, decidí tomar como principal referencia la interpretación del mundo clásico que evocaban Klimt y Mucha. He adorado el arte de ambos desde siempre, y algunas de las ilustraciones —como éstas— son un homenaje directo.

I decided to use Klimt and Mucha as main references for my inner illustrations of  "Rojo y Oro". I've loved their art since always, and I created certain illustrations –like these ones– as a perfectly recognizable tribute.

Rojo y Oro - Inicios

¡Ya queda menos de un mes para que Rojo y Oro esté disponible en librerías! Ésta fue la primera y apasionada aproximación a Asteria que hice cuando Iria y Selene me honraron al proponerme ilustrar su novela.

Finalmente, las ilustraciones interiores resultaron muy distintas a ésta (para empezar, son en blanco y negro), pero estoy muy muy orgullosa de todas ellas, y entre todas hablan del personaje como un todo. Y proclamo aquí y ahora mi amor febril por esta amazona.


Less than a month left to see "Rojo y Oro" published! This was my first –and passionate- approach to one of the main characters, Asteria. I created it when Iria and Selene honored me proposing me as illustrator.

The final inner illustrations have a very different style (they are black and white to begin with), but I’m very proud of all of them, and altogether they describe the character as a whole. And I proclaim here and now my fervent love for this amazon.

Roots

I swallowed the roots of the trees, 

and they grew deep down inside like they wanted me.
